Who Are We?

David Rowland Grigg is the senior partner of Rightword Enterprises. Suzanne Grigg is at once his able assistant, his strict financial controller, and his beloved wife.

David has been involved with personal computers and software development since the days of the first personal computers in the 1970s. His first personal computer was a Tandy Model I with 4K of memory, soon upgraded to -- wow -- 16K ! On that machine he wrote his own word processing system in assembly language. He has loved programming ever since.

But he didn't start out to be a computer programmer. Indeed, his first real job was as a writer in a public relations company, followed by journalism-type jobs in the publications areas of several government departments, finally moving to Telecom Australia. His job with Telecom concentrated on explaining complex telecommunications technology in simple terms to the general public.

This combination of technical knowledge and expertise with a passion for explaining things simply has proved extremely useful for many projects.

In 1985, David joined one of the country's largest audio-visual production and post-production companies, where his role has been the development of interactive multimedia applications. He was instrumental in developing Australia's first major public use of interactive multimedia - the visitor information system for World Expo '88, held in Brisbane. Since then, he has been involved with hundreds of multimedia applications.

David continues to work in multimedia on a freelance basis. He loves to program, and loves to write. Any chance that he gets to do one or the other is greatly welcomed.
